View In My Room
"Distortion in Transit" introduces us to an everyday space that unravels with each step toward the unknown. The metro corridor, inhabited by the figure of an elderly man, represents routine, a familiar setting that, however, begins to disintegrate into lines of color propagating upwards, suggesting a break with the ordinary perception of the surroundings. The movement of the elderly man, accompanied by this visual distortion, seems to allude to the inevitable erosion of time and the distortion of reality that accompanies the journey of life. In the plastic context, the work plays with lines that transform the space into something unstable, reminding us that the solidity of reality is subject to the whims of time. The contrast between the sharpness of the man and the deformation of the environment creates a dialogue that highlights the ephemeral nature of the moment, that transition between the solid and the abstract, evoking both physical and emotional distortion. The viewer is invited to lose themselves in those ascending lines that seem to have no clear destination, reflecting the uncertainty of each step. The distortion of the corridor is also a metaphor for the passage of time. As one progresses, the landscape around them changes, almost as a constant oscillation between stability and chaos. In this work, time manifests not only as something that affects the body but also reality itself, transforming what we know into something undefined, seemingly beyond our immediate understanding.

Zoe Lunar radiates and works in Mexico City, is a graduate of the national school of painting, sculpture and engraving "La Esmeralda". He is an artist in constant formation, who seeks plastic, visual and sound experimentation. His work feeds on time as matter and how it helps to interpret reality, through temporal representations, of spaces that converge in their social context and how this influences the formation and interpretation of our different contemporary realities; making use of the qualities of painting and drawing to make deformations in a perceptive portrait of different moments, and personal times in a single interpretation. He is currently nurturing his plastic work especially in painting and drawing, giving him new outlets like AR in some of his new works and occasionally making music and video.
