Influenced by her mother, Gayane Zakyan, a celebrated painter, Anael’s artistic journey began in a creative household and flourished during her studies at the Yegor Matita Art School in Moscow. A graduate of Cambridge University’s MicroMasters program in 'Reconceiving Space: Installation and Performance Art', Anael also holds a master’s in International Relations, enriching her global and intellectual perspective. Her art combines traditional techniques with modern technology, earning her recognition for innovative approaches, including during her IFC program participation. With solo exhibitions in Yerevan and international showcases like M.A.D.S. Gallery, Anael’s style merges dreamlike elements and philosophical depth. In 2024, she was honored as the 'Best UAE Pavilion Artist' at World Art Dubai. Based in Tbilisi, Anael is preparing for a groundbreaking immersive solo exhibition in Dubai, pushing the boundaries of contemporary art with live performance and interactive displays. The artist, influenced by her cross-cultural experiences, combines expressionism and surrealism, taking us on a journey through multiple realities. In her works we see the subjective vision of reality, typical of expressionism, and the Surrealist element of dream and the unreal, skilfully fused together through unusual juxtapositions of different elements, irreconcilable in the real world.
