Who are you and what’s your background? Marin Berovic was born in 1951 in Novo mesto, Slovenia, EU. He was talented painter already in his early school time. In his High School he was influent ilustrator of poetry and lateron also his Faculty Journal. Living and doing my Art Work in Ljubljana, Slovenia Capitol on Trebinjska 11, 1000 Ljubljana, Slovenia. marin.berovic@fkkt.uni-lj.si. Available on Viber, Messanger, WhatsApp as well as on Facebook and Skype. More www.marin-berovic.si Tell us about who you are and what you do. Why Art ? I am all of my life a combination of Science & Art. It was all of my life like that. My Science was always complemented with My Art (playing music, phography, literature...) and the opposite. My activities always constructively supported each other. Although I had started as a figuralist my interest has very early turned to Landscapes where I am home still now. In my early years I was linked to Oil Pastel where after I had reached my Top in its technology and expression I turned to Classic Pastel where I am after 50 years the most specialized and recognized Slovenian pastel artist. Besides Pastel I was specialized also Aquarel and special effects in this technique. As Professor on Art I was lecturing and presenting Art Technology and Materials I was involved also to development of new painting techniques, I am using in my art in last ten years. I had developed Pastel on Canvas as well as Aquarelle + Airbrush on Canvas, for large scale images. Who are your biggest influences and why? What are the major themes you pursue in your work? Although I was always admiring artists as Breuggel, Bosch and Dali, by my expression I am still an impressionist, respecting the energy of the landscape, its color composition as well as the expression of the light, clouds and the moment, I was staying a landscape painter impressed by World Natural Beauties. These motives impress me on all of my World travels elsewhere. In Aquarell I was influenced by comprehensive American specialists, William Turner and France Slana, the most inventive Slovenian Aquarell Specialist. What are the major themes you pursue in your work? My motives are linked to the most expressive landscape from all over the World. Most of them I did on base of my photographs that I was used as my sketches and starting point. In all of my painting opus (cca.1000 ) I was specialized in clouds, character and energy of land and water dynamics.
