Born in 1999 and raised on the Mediterranean island of Mallorca, Rebeca López Borràs grew up in a creative environment, influenced by her artist mother. At the age of 17, Rebeca moved to London on her own, where she discovered her true calling to dedicate her life to art. Rebeca is largely self-taught, although she spent two years studying Art and Design at university. She ultimately chose not to complete her formal education, feeling that it didn't align with her personal artistic vision. While she has big respect for those who pursue traditional art education, she prefers to be guided by her intuition, breaking free from conventional norms and allowing her soul to guide her creative process. Her paintings are a vibrant celebration of spontaneity and freedom. Often painted with her hands or using the materials in unconventional ways, Rebeca captures the essence of the Mediterranean through flowing, dynamic lines and a warm, earthy palette. Her work often centers around the female form symbolizing both the nurturing and resilient aspects of femininity. The use of bold, abstract shapes and rhythmic patterns evokes a sense of movement, echoing the natural flow of nature. Travelling has also been a significant influence in Rebeca's art. After leaving university she started a journey as a backpacker, during this experience she lived in a community where she led Therapeutic Art workshops and later, she continued offering this workshops independently in different countries. This experience deepened her belief in the healing power of art. Through her pieces and creative process, Rebeca seeks to inspire others to connect and find healing through creative expression. Currently, She is living in Bunyola, a little village in Mallorca. Creating in her studio while she works on building a little exhibition room and a space to give creative workshops and help others reconnect with the artist that we all have inside.
