Dragons Stone Painting

I was born in South Africa in the 80's, I grew up on a farm in the middle of KwaZulu Natal. Growing up, studying, starting my career and family in South Africa has been an adventure and fueled me with an enormous amount of passion and inspiration for a lifetime of painting. I started off by completing my degree in Fashion design in 2006, the week I completed my studies I moved back to our family farm and started my own factory. I started off by sourcing leather and hair-on cowhide from local tanneries and trained women from the surrounding underprivileged communities to make carpets, cushions and finely crafted handbags. Our products rapidly became sought after by designers and private buyers all over the world. We created the very first Cowhide product ecommerce site. We exhibited at large art shows, Aartklop and Decorex for many years. As the political situation in South Africa has changed, life on a farm became too dangerous for our young family; so with a giant leap of faith In 2018 my husband, myself and 3 small children packed our entire lives into 10 suitcases and started a new life/adventure in Saskatchewan, Canada. We got a fresh start and I chose to follow my lifelong dream of becoming a working fine artist. Everyday I get to create and paint what I love, everyday we are free and safe, I hope you get to see the hope and adventure I feel coming through in my paintings. I have been painting and creating my whole life... as my life evolved, and my career shifted from Fashion to Fine Art, I find the most joy and expression in painting vibrant abstract water and land scenes from my memories of a life in Africa!
