I'm a metal artist applying the technique of metal to the sensibility of painting and makes a new style of three-dimensional painting. As for me, metal wire could become a unique tool that would draw lines and make images instead of a pencil or brush. So this 'Draw the Time' is made of delicate and thin aluminum wires. Basically there is a stereotype that metal looks hard and feels cold, but on the other hand, it also has different properties that are soft and warm. Similar to metal’s characteristics, there are a lot of precious things in nature, but it’s not so easy to recognize their intrinsic beauty at a glance. It can be found after we observe and commune with nature and muse on it for a long time. When I get to find out and feel such hidden beauties of nature, they fascinate and inspire me. As my studio is located near the national arboretum, I often visit the arboretum and enjoy walking in the forest when I got a chance. While following a trail between dense woods, I feel the gentle breeze and watch seasonal flowers. All these things have been the main subjects and themes of my works. Of course, this work is also made from the inspiration in this forest. Like small things add up to big things, every single moment makes a long lifetime. People tend to set a high value on the future, but I often realize how much we cherish the memories of the good old days and miss them. So in this work 'Draw the Time', I tried to express precious memories that make us smile and give us the power to live on. Detailed textures at the wood panel mean accumulated time, like the sedimentary rocks. And various vibrant colors mean diversity of unique memories. I put the plaster on the wood panel to make natural textures. And I also welded thin aluminum wires and combine them with the panel to make three-dimensional effects. I'd like to share with everyone the beautiful sensibility I talk through artworks. And I hope people can feel the warm sensibility of metal together with me.

website: Instagram: park_yongho_art I’m a metal artist and painter, applying metal works to painting. Though I’m a Korea based artist, I’m very active internationally. For many years I’ve been working in Japan, France, and the U.S.A. with lots of galleries. I seek the harmony of two different categories, metal work and painting. And I try to make them in good balance and moderation. So my artwork is differentiated from normal painting in many ways. Every work includes metals (aluminum, steel, stainless steel, etc.), which are combined with various other materials (wood, plaster, etc.) It has distinctive matière and three-dimensional effects. And it’s possible to adjust the size or color of artworks, according to collectors’ requests. I think artwork can be a good communication method even if it’s not a language. So I always try to express various thoughts and emotions in my work. Because I think communication is always the most important requirement for artwork. There are many beautiful things, not visible but do exist in this world. When I feel and recognize them, they fascinate me and stir up my sensitivity. I would like to share with everyone the beauty that I feel and express through artworks.
