Painting: Oil on Canvas.
Imagine this; you're some kind of water creature of the deeps, you're sleeping somewhere at the bottom of the immense aquarium, called 'Sea'. Your music is a water-bubbling, your art is underwater morning sunlight. (Inspired by the Red Sea, Israel)
Conceived and completed by the winter of 2011 at the Island Studio, Jerusalem.
This painting is on a gallery wrapped canvas with finished black edges. It comes ready to hang. Signed on the front and back.
About a process:
This piece has started with no preconceived notion of where the process will go. There is something magical about the painting being spontaneous, as only have a certain amount of control over what is out - the rest is serendipity. This is a multilayered work. Alexey builds up layers using a variety of techniques with large windows in each, so that the final images are a kind of collage of textures.
About a series:
"Somewhere, In Another Dimension"
We have a sneaking suspicion that there is more going on than our five senses can tell us. We know we need to explore these unseen realms, relying on our intuition to find the answers we seek. With the help of pure imagination, free-flowing brush, and mesmerizing color palette, Alexey shares his vision of a world, saturated somewhere in another dimension, between dream and reality. His voyage of discovery begin with a single line and then take on vivid lives of their own as landscapes in which viewers can lose themselves. Alexey strives to create works that allow for free-form exploration in an abstract universe without the hard constraints of realism.
