ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Native Americans believe that the night air is filled with dreams, both good and bad. So all kind of dreams are possible, but their parts have to pass the spider net of the dream catcher. So all details, parts, forms, colors and images that form the world of a dream are trying to pass the filter. In this stage that is captured in my painting nothing seems to make any sense at all. But once gone through the dream catcher all those parts are combined to the illusionary world that we experience as a dream.

My art is an escape from ego, an act of selflessness on the canvas. Colors are applied seemingly aimlessly and then removed again. Models serve only as a pretext for painting; my works emerge beyond academic norms. I paint out of pure joy. A photograph does not reveal the essence like painting does. My creation is not for pleasing others but satisfies an inner longing. It's not about the image but about the creative process, whose significance emerges in the eye of the beholder.
