Amina Al Hassan’s work is rooted in the physical and emotional act of painting. Using acrylics, oil pigment sticks, and mixed media on canvas, she creates layered, expressive compositions that explore themes of identity, memory, and transformation. Each piece is a journey—built through gestures, textures and spontaneity. Oil pigment sticks and the fluidity of acrylics allow her to move quickly between bold marks and subtle transitions. The canvas becomes a space where layers are added, scraped back, and reworked. This process mirrors the emotional layering of lived experience: complex, imperfect, and deeply human. Layering plays a central role in her practice—not only as a visual technique but as a metaphor for how identity is formed. Just as her paintings are built from multiple layers, so too are we shaped by overlapping experiences, memories, and emotions. Her visual language is abstract yet emotionally charged. She often works intuitively, guided by mood, rhythm, and the physical response of the materials. Through color, texture, and form, she aims to evoke a sense of presence inviting viewers to slow down and connect with their own inner landscapes. Minaa Art is her way of translating the unseen into the visible. It is a practice of reflection, resilience, and release.
