Bio: Mike Martinet is a lifetime resident of the southwest - California, Arizona and Nevada. • Mike's primary mediums are water-based paints and vector art graphics. • Currently employed as a web developer, Mike lives in Irvine, California. • Statement: "Most of my paintings and vector art pieces start as ballpoint and marker sketches. I fill pages of sketchbooks with tightly-clustered, random shapes connected together in an automatic-drawing style. They are often a combination of mechanical and biological elements - a channeled convergence of people and machines that I call 'robot expressionism'. • "My work is influenced by Hot Rod Cartoons, Mad Magazine, Zap Comix, Patrick Nagel, Peter Max and Keith Haring. • "My intention is to create dynamic designs that are thought-provoking and humorous."
