My work is about abstraction from nature and the nature of abstraction. I am interested in how ways of seeing become ways of thinking. Most of the paintings featured here are the result of a fascination of the interplay of light on leaves. The rhythmic patterns that emerge are concerned with both colour and perception. I was born and educated in Australia, lived many years in rural Portugal and now work from my studio in Cornwall.
