Lukas Göbel is a Dutch contemporary artist born and raised in Amsterdam. His love for photography began in his father’s darkroom and grew into a professional career. At 22, while he worked as an assistant to an industrial photographer he also studied at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague, where he was inspired by artists like Jeff Wall and Philip-Lorca diCorcia. Lukas gained recognition for his photography, capturing portraits of well-known figures like Martin Parr, Tom Waits, and Jane Fonda. However, after facing health challenges, he shifted his focus also to painting and drawing, rediscovering his creative freedom. Today, Lukas draws inspiration from everyday objects and found items, blending photography, painting, and mixed media. His art is instinctual and spontaneous, telling stories through vibrant, energetic compositions. Each piece invites viewers to see the beauty in the ordinary and discover new perspectives.
