Seda Isikman Dulger (b. 1979) Observer and experimenter artist based in Frankfurt am Main Artist Biography She is an observer and experimental artist whose practice explores the emotional dialogue between colour, form, and memory. Born in 1979, her artistic journey began early: during high school she won the prize in an art competition, marking the beginning of a lifelong relationship with creative expression. Watercolour became her first language in art, shaping her sensitivity to fluidity, spontaneity, and layered emotion. While studying economics at university in Istanbul, she simultaneously entered the worlds of marketing and brand development, later deepening her visual knowledge through certificate programs at fashion schools where she focused on pattern design. This unique intersection of analytical thinking and visual experimentation continues to inform her artistic practice today. Although she maintains a professional career in the corporate world, art remains her enduring passion — a space of freedom, exploration, and emotional truth. Working primarily with premium acrylic media on paper and canvas, Dulger creates compositions where seemingly unrelated forms find harmony through colour. Her work reflects a search for balance within contrast, embracing imperfection as an essential part of authenticity. Artistic statement from the artist’s own voice: -The Unexpected Harmony of Colour and Form For me, art is not a pursuit of perfection; it is the discovery of peace within the unique chaos created by independent shapes, colours, and forms. When I stand before the canvas, what excites me most is witnessing how elements that might never belong together can, through the right palette, form an unbreakable connection. -The Aesthetic of Imperfection Unlike the distant nature of flawless surfaces, I am drawn to the beauty of the handmade. Every line and every brushstroke should tell a story. The small irregularities, natural asymmetries, and lived traces within the work are not flaws — they are evidence of presence. Forms with history gain deeper meaning when they come together. -Every Shape a Memory, Every Colour an Emotion Inspiration emerges from everyday life: the texture of a street, patterns found in nature, or memories that linger in the mind. By combining contrasting geometries and diverse patterns, I seek a new visual equilibrium — a harmony built from difference.
