ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Artist: Violetta Strabic Title: 'Eerie Nightscape' Style: Seascape, Abstract, Contemporary, Fantasy, Modern, Urban, Expressionist, Black and White. About the artwork: - Made by Australian Artist Violetta Strabic. - This original artwork has been exhibited at the Thirroul Seaside Festival Exhibition. - I have been developing since the early 2000's. The style originated from night time photographs I took of Belmore Basin in my home town Wollongong NSW Australia. I wanted to evoke an eerie yet romantic sensation one would feel standing alone watching the lights shine over the water's edge. The darkness that comes through in my work originates from my personal journey and hardships expressed when overcoming cancer. I try to capture my new sense of appreciation in the everyday landscape using my daydreams for swimming peacefully in the ocean and creating that welcoming escape as my ultimate freedom.
