About The Artwork
El Palafito is a wooden shack on stilts, built by local lobster fishermen at Los Roques, Venezuela. Built with bits and pieces, this charming place is also used by guides and their fly fishing clients for their lunch break. I hope viewers will feel the hot silty breeze and discover all the nuaces of the clear tropical water. People are about, eating, drinking and mending the boats, which brings life in this peaceful scenery. By looking closely, one will discover plenty of details. Being a fly fisherman myself, I simply love this place, which is why I painted it a second time (from a different angle). This large piece is executed with the best acrylic pigments of Winsor & Newton on 100% pure stretched linen canvas. It is protected with 4 layers of anti UV acryl varnish. The sides are finished and stainless steel wire makes it ready to hang on your wall.
