Amaya F. Fariza (Bilbao) holds a degree in Fine Arts. Her work belongs to contemporary realism, where emotions, thoughts, and everyday scenes converge. Through painting, she channels her ideas, drawing inspiration from nature, the human figure, and atmospheres filled with mystery and romanticism. Her creative process begins with photography, which nourishes her compositions. She combines elements from reality —objects, figures, environments— with color as a central protagonist. Form and background merge in her personal pictorial language, which sometimes moves beyond pure realism to explore more evocative dimensions. She has worked with various techniques, including watercolor, tempera, pastel, and charcoal. Although she has witnessed the rise of expressionism up close, she remains faithful to her own style, based on constant technical and conceptual exploration, creating unique visual universes. Among her most notable series are “Soledades”, dreamlike worlds where vegetation dominates even in interior spaces, and “Paraísos”, tropical compositions filled with mystery and dreams. In “Summers”, she portrays everyday beach scenes with young women, evoking the freshness and nostalgia of summers that will not return. Following her “Floral” series, in which flowers and birds coexist with figures and oversized backgrounds, she is currently developing the “Presencias” series, where girls and flowers inhabit symbolic spaces, exploring the relationship between the human figure and nature, intimacy, and transformation. Her work is part of international private collections and has been both a finalist and award-winner in various painting competitions. She has also developed an extensive career as an art educator and artistic director.
