5'x5'x1.75" - fresco, acrylic, with oil glaze on canvas stretched over panel. I start by hand crafting a well-built frame with panel substrate. I gallery wrap all of my works and paint the edges black so one can forego framing. Hand stretched, heavy duct cotton canvas is prepared with fresco. The painting is rendered in acrylics that are, at times, scraped and sanded and stained into the fresco. A nuanced surface is achieved with rounds of colors showing through. Multiple rounds of oil glazes are applied that bring a heightened sense of modernity to the painting. A subtle key hole effect is worked in so when the artwork is lit in its environment it will read with a subtly brighter center. This ultimately lends to a heightened focal point in any setting. Please feel free to email with any questions. I am happy to send further details of this painting.
