Taking the a modern twist to the Suprematism style of art. The overlapping elements represent the different connections species create with different aspects of nature and amongst themselves. The copper overlaps represent the connections we have with the earth. The aqua green brush stroke represents the connection to the air and sea; at first, it's not very evident that it's there but it's still present in our lives.
