I continue to explore human existence through the concept of the “puzzle.” For me, humans are not complete beings, but rather incomplete fragments that are constantly being formed, carrying loneliness and desire. We are each a puzzle piece, yet we come to form a whole only through relationships with others. I am interested in visualizing the tension between the inner self and the external world, and the space that emerges between them. Through restrained compositions centered on black, white, and gold, as well as material elements such as mother-of-pearl and the expansion of color, I seek to reveal the layered nature of emotion and the complexity of human existence. Through works such as the Human Puzzle, Shadow Series, and Pinocchio Series, I explore inner longing, desire for others, self-awareness, and the irony of human existence in various ways. I believe that human beings discover themselves through others while continuously questioning who they are. And I believe that this state of incompleteness itself is both the way we live and the very possibility of our existence.
