ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Inspired by my love of food, and the beautiful color of north light in my studio, I began a series of small paintings of fruit and vegetables. Painted "alla prima" (all in one session) to capture a fresh and immediate impression of the subject, each still life was set up by a window drenched in cool natural north light. I enjoy cooking, trying new foods, and shopping at farmers markets, so this was the perfect subject for me to explore.
