Painting: Oil on Wood.
Portrait of the artists son Oscar. This is the first in a series of contemplative portraits of a boys life; revealing the subtle changes from infancy to a young adult. Though it is painted as if viewed from a future retrospective [ as if 'looking back on the subjects childhood]. This notion is expressed through the use of fragmented lace effects over slants of found wood [ giving the portrait an 'archaeological evocation'.
