'Epiphany' draws inspiration from Tokyo neon, colours derived from projected light. The figures are culled from Japanese newspapers, blown up to a minimal point of recognition. I chose the medium for its bright and contrasting colours and graphic impact on the viewer.

Bitvert has a shotgun approach to art that includes projection, painting audio and moving image. He has exhibited and performed in galleries and venues around the world. He started his career as a painter and has created a varied body of work exploring found image and optical colour. His paintings are informed by printing techniques and images at the borders of recognition. The recent black and white series of work is an attempt to paint digital states and print error. Recent projects include music production and large-scale projection. His work with architectural images evolved from a stint of guerrilla publicity stunts, including the infamous projection of Gail Porter onto the Houses of Parliament in 1995. His large-scale projection developed with a commission for the Turin Biennale in 2000 with a commission to project images onto landmark buildings in the city. The images derive from medical equipment sourced at the Royal College of Surgeons in London. This was followed with an Audio/Visual installation for the ICA in London, commissioned for the Playtime film festival. The resulting video projection had a performance aspect where filmed images are mixed to to an audio soundtrack. Since 2008 he has been working with The Light Surgeons, an established multimedia collective.Projects have included audio production for 'LDN24' at The Museum of London and music production and performance for 'True Fictions', a live audio/visual performance.(New York/London IMAX/Hong Kong/Belfast/Madrid/Brighton/Milan/Big Chill Festival/ Malcolm Litson releases music as 'Bitvert' on Random Records. The 'Civil Serpent' EP came out in 2013.
