Self taught Artist. I was born in Holguin Oriente, Cuba in 1953. I showed interest in art at an early age of six years old. I started by drawing Pinocchio and other Disney characters. These characters were two dimensional drawings on wood which were displayed on my bedroom walls as decoration. During this period I used pencil on paper as media and I drew everything that looked interesting or amusing. I was mentored by Mario Aguirre, Engineer, Architect and Draftsman, during my early years until I was twelve years old. He was very influential in design, lines and detail drawings. I carry this influence with me until this day and it projects in my artwork. Studied Architectural Drafting at Alexander Hamilton Vocational and Technical High School in New York. Studied Interior Design at Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, 1972-74. Here I expanded my knowledge in interior design, design concepts and application, decoration materials and textures, the use of color and history of art and still-life art. Studied Professional Studies Business and Marketing at Barry University 1991-92. Here I was able to learn the different processes and methods of taking a high value finished product to the end-user to satisfy their needs and wants at an affordable price. Awards Awarded the "Alexander Medal", from The School Art League of New York City. Presented at The Metropolitan Museum of Art of New York, 1971. My goal is to provide you with a high value fine art that has the complements of good design, composition, color balance, that complements the interior design aesthetics ,that is pleasing to the eye and keeps you engaged with curiosity of its meaning and its intricacies of how it was made.
