ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The painting is inspired by my travels to Spain. Especially hiking in the Tramuntana Mountains on Mallorca has been very impressive last year. The small old villages tell their own stories of bygone times...but "The past is never 's not even past." (William Faukner)

I live in Dorsten, Germany, a small town near Düsseldorf. My studio is situated in Duisburg at Atelierhaus Weidenweg, which is the location of Kunstverein Duisburg. Growing up in a family of architects, I was surrounded by art from early on. Therefore I had the idea of becoming a garden designer. So I undertook a gardener training for two years. Being also interested in literature and philosophy, afterwards I decided to study History and German Literature at the University of Bonn. Later on I worked for an advertising agency in Cologne. For nearly 15 years now I have been working as an independent artist and freelance media designer.
