Art Description

Painting: Oil on Paper.

Based on a photo by the amazing photo-journalist Lynsey Addario, with her kind permission. Esperancia is just one of many Congolese women, who has become an innocent victim of the civil war. Having already lost a child, Esperancia has been rushed in to a barely equipped maternity ward, with zero facilities for premature babies, and is six months pregnant. Infant mortality rates here are unsurprisingly high!

If only the rest of the world would take notice and help our fellow brothers and sisters.

12.5% of proceeds will be donated to maternityworldwide.org
