Elena Volkova lives in Moscow, where she was born. Being a gifted and highly-skilled photographer with 18 years of experience, she takes her first steps in modern art, focusing on painting. Elena started her career as a commercial photographer in 2003, specializing in advertising. In this role, she has achieved recognition of the professional community and became a member of the Guild of Advertising Photographers of Russia. Her portfolio includes works for such brands as Gazprom, BWT, Standard&Poors. Having gained success as a photographer, Elena devotes her attention to fine art. For all of her life, Elena was always interested in painting. As a child, she developed artistic skills in constant practice and learning from private teachers and tutors. Her long-term passion for painting has been enriched with composition and colorwork skills acquired with professional experience and transformed into an independent creative self-expression path. Figurativeness, primitivism, and the style of "children's drawing" prevail in Elena's painting technique as a radical contrast to the product of her photographic career, which is refined advertising images. Elena draws inspiration from the natural beauty of the surrounding nature, so flora and fauna motifs are often presented in her works. Favorite artists are Hopper, Klimt, Pollock, Banksy, and Picasso.
