Mental health and illness is the inspiration behind my work in order to help continue the conversation.

At first glance from a distance, the viewer may just see "pretty pastel colours/tones" but once they look closer and spend more time with the painting, they're able to see much more than that. In a way, it's a representation of how we're too quick to judge one another. From a certain distance you'll notice a subtle outline of a girl sitting cross legged with her back towards the viewer, surrounded by small drawings of flowers, a crown, thunderbolts and a suicide hotline above it. Essentially the message is, not all things are what they seem or look like especially from a distance. There is much more substance than meets the eye.

Style of painting, inspired by the abstract expressionism and colour field painting movement like artist, Clyfford Still.

Includes already attached wire for hanging.
Gallery Wrapped Heavy Duty Canvas.

Pandora Owl was born and raised outside of Toronto, Ontario. Started her journey, building a career in advertising until she decided to make a leap into following her art passion. Her art focuses on mental health & illness in order to help comfort those who suffer from it as well as exposing it to those who don’t. She leverages mixed media in order to tell her stories, often referencing her youth by incorporating items such as comics and or toys; a style she developed in her art class back in high school. Her textured mixed media art has many layers that can be seen and felt but most importantly ignite and continue the conversation of mental health as it’s increasingly making its way to the forefront.
