ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Acrylic paint on stretched deep canvas frame Technique: Palette knife. Measures: 36" x 36" (91 x 91 cm / approx) Depth: 38mm Stretched canvas over pine bars, 100% cotton (10oz) acid-free. Painted in 2014 and signed by Nuno Gonsalves (myself) in the bottom right hand corner and on the back. This is a lovely piece of art capturing movement aided by rich golden reflections. The reflections are always different, dependent on the view-point, intensity and direction of light.

Nuno Gonsalves, born in 1972 in Portugal, raised in France, developed influences from both cultures. Now living and working in Birmingham, UK. He specialised in Ceramics at Arts College, and has had his own ceramic works / shop in Portugal for 7 years, but over the years his passion has become paintings as well, especially oils, developing diverse styles/techniques from old masters to contemporary. He has exhibited in England and Portugal and sold across the world most recently to Las Vegas. Nuno is busy with commissions for portraits, landscapes, seascapes and cityscapes popular for technical skill, anatomical accuracy, and for his masterly brush strokes!
