It’s fun to work on big size, I try to give the same energy from small size to bigger one
For this one, I was inspired by a windy night, couldn’t get asleep because of the day after, waited as a great day for water sport. Working on this one took a long time, so the inspiration came also from music, community, and everyday life. Moreover, contemplate the starry sky in Gascony, is obviously a deep inspiration

For Gilles Lozac'h, art transcends everyday life. It brings back the old feelings he used to experience when he was living by the sea, windsurfing back and forth, whatever the weather, in the bay of the Moutiers en Retz. He has created a very graphic and colorful world in his paintings and drawings. A world made out of simple geometrical shapes, which, once put together, give life to familiar beings. These family trees, as he calls them, do not however directly belong to our families. They create his own... With as their distant cousins, Takashi Murakami and Keith Haring. We have never met these polymorphous beings before and yet, we are naturally drawn to them. Gilles' work's mystery lies in the impression of intimacy. Which gives to his work in the making a surprising depth, full of promises.
