About The Artwork
Inspired by a recent visit to a great exhibition - 'Art & Myth - The Gods of the Prado' in Palma, Mallorca. I was particularly taken by a painting by Van Eyck - 'The Fall of Faeton' and this is my expressionistic version. Loved the colors and dynamism of the image. Please note this painting is on unstretched canvas and there isn't enough space around the image to put on a wooden stretcher. Would recommend it's framed behind glass. Ships in a tube.

Taking a lot of inspiration from old masters, particularly from the Rococo/Baroque era, I'm especially drawn to the composition, colors & fabrics and like to put my contemporary twist on it. Painting in a very expressive way, abstract elements are explored in these figurative subjects and the spaces in between. Using a variety of media such as acrylic, charcoal, plaster & pastel I'm constantly experimenting with textures & layers to convey flow & movement. Throughout my artistic career I've exhibited widely across the UK and Europe in both group and solo shows, as well as having work regularly published.
