Family Painting

This started out as two figures reaching out lovingly, equals - but ended up as this rather unsettling picture with a creepy family thing going on. This is why I find painting so difficult sometimes, I start out with something, an image or a feeling and soon the painting goes off in another direction, like a stubborn mule. Bring on self-confidence, I say, bring on planning and forethought, vision and optimism. Where do we stand, where are we heading...? Acrylic and oil on canvas.
