About The Artwork

The word "Fe tuliko" is a dialect from local language from Uganda which means " its our time". This work inspired by a young boy who by his smile expresses how empowered he is regardless how what he has or lack. The dialogue here is that use your time and smile not everyone can afford it.

Ssekitto Kalule Emmanuel is a prominent East African painter and ceramist, who works mostly in oil, acrylics and his ceramics works are reduction fired with a natural smoking effect. After his bachelors degree in industrial and fine art at Makerere University Uganda, he proceeded to practice his art which is inspired by the lives of the people he comes across. In 2017, he was nominated for the Young Achievers Awards in Kampala, he has participated in several group exhibitions and his works are collected locally and internationally by renown art collectors. His painting are characterized by squares and vibrant tints of various colors while as his ceramics have stitches of threads in them.
