Fear Of Toasters Painting

Fear Of Toasters is part of an ongoing series of works made by Oscar about bread, in this instance taking the form of an oil painting on a reclaimed breadboard. Furthermore the artist has mixed in ground up wheat into the oil paint which gives the painting its thick and multi-layered texture, and displays the work sitting on a ledge, face-up to reference the usual orientation of a bread-board in-use. The work presents a humorously exaggerated rendering of the moment a slice of toast pops out of the toaster, thereby startling everyone in the room.
