I saw a photograph of this bird on Instagram and instantly fell in love with its anthropomorphic body language. As if the bird was pushing one shoulder up, hiding its face behind as well as holding the hidden wing up like a veil. I saw it and knew it needs to be on a large painting. Also the composition is right there, swirling towards the centre where the eye and the beak are, it reminds me of a Fibonacci or golden ratio spiral. I hope you see the character of the bird and what the intention of this Black Australian female cockatoo is, to show its colours shyly.
