Randy Conner is a self-taught artist who currently resides in Oregon. His work is bold, bright, and cryptic. Containing many hidden themes and messages, as well as bizarre imagery, Conner's paintings demand much more than a quick glance. Working primarily in acrylic paint and oil pastels, Conner strives to create images that are difficult to forget. He says, "I want the viewer to feel drawn in, confused, excited, and energized." Life and Death are the larger themes present in Conner's work. Many of his paintings explore nature's never-ending cycle of death feeding life. Flowers, insects, and animals are used to symbolize life, beauty, and energy. The contrast of a butterfly and a skeleton represent the connection between the living and the dead. Life is fragile and Conner's images serve as a reminder to cherish the moment. Conner's paintings are hanging in San Diego, Los Angeles, New York City, Denver, Chicago, Japan, Singapore, and Switzerland.
