Fig (No.2) Painting

In my current body of work, I use flora and fauna as my base or jumping off point then immerse myself in the development of the painting as it unravels, responding to every mark with a keenly developed improvisational style. Objects are analyzed, broken up and reassembled in a gestural abstract form. I relish in pure colour and the lyrical movement of paint on the surface. Like a tangle of vines, my paintings invite you to travel through them and explore the sensations that arise from the colours and forms. Lalonde is an emerging artist and a recent graduate of the Drawing and Painting program at OCAD University. She is represented by Muse Gallery in Toronto and is currently living and working in Guelph ON.
