Painting: oil, charcoal, pencil, ash, magazine pages on Canvas.
After coming off a pretty amazing summer break I found myself a little lost in the studio. After consuming a couple of books that kept me thinking long after I had read them, confusing world news, and confusing personal news; I have been feeling overwhelmed. As I have done before, I thought it would be best to translate some of these feelings to a series of paintings. The imagery is still abstract but also very figurative. I am using the figurative form to make it clear to the viewer that this series is about the weight of the human emotion. This painting also combines collage and drawing.
