ABOUT THE ARTWORK

“Finding Hope In The Heart Of Winter” is an allegory on the theme of Winter, which, for many people can represent a long and difficult psychological journey through cold and darkness until Spring, while, for others represents a simple transitional shift of Nature, with its own unique Beauty. Each season has its own favorable and unfavorable factors, its own enjoyable uniqueness and treasures, as well as not so pleasant moments. With Winter come the cold, the short and dark days, the feeling sometimes insurmontable that your whole being is overwhelmed with this cold and icy cover. But with it also come the majestic landscapes and the opportunity to appreciate every light, every moment of warmth and the closeness of other fellow humans experiencing the same challenging environments.

He has given numerous lectures at various events and universities across the US and France, including the San Francisco Academy or Arts, the University of California in Berkeley and the California State University of Northridge. The style of Christophe’s personal imagery has multiple influences; from old painting schools like the Hudson River, The American Realists, The great American Illustrators, The Romantics and the European Symbolists for their grandiose, theatrical scenery, to more contemporary artists like Sandorfi, Beksinski, Ugarte and The Visionaries (Les Visionnaires) in France. Travel and music are a large part of his inspiration as well.
