Fire Dancer Painting

Fire Dancer depicts a symbolic “energy body” engaged in yoga. The enclosed figure acts above an empty and arid silent desert, on a beautiful day, completely focused on the task at hand. It was inspired by a particular teacher who created an aura of silence and complete concentration during practice.. This is an acrylic polymer painting on a gesso-primed cotton canvas mounted on a gallery-style wood stretcher. It’s custom-framed with a simple box painted a neutral gray which can be repainted if desired. The canvas is attached to the back of the frame- revealing the canvas edges. The sides of the canvas are painted to look like an aged bronze patina. The painting itself has the look and feel of an oil painting with a glossy sheen, and has been varnished with a removable archival varnish. The painted surface has a moderate amount off physical brush and knife texture with the canvas weave showing through primarily in the figure circle. This work of art will arrive in a flat shipping box ready to hang, and includes an appropriate picture hanger and a detailed Certificate of Authenticity.
