"Firenze" was inspired by my experiences while studying and exploring Florence. I was captivated by color, cast by the setting sun over the city. I utilized the view from Piazzale Michelangelo as a vehicle to express my interest in color and study its effects in the space. This piece includes a fl...

I often refer to my “BC” (Before Children) years when discussing my work. Those years in the professional arena I discovered inspiration through travels, produced for exhibitions, and prioritized cultivating my skill set. The act of painting was methodical and focused. Efforts of returning to the studio have forced me to examine how I paint. My style is transforming in parallel to how life itself has been redefined. I’m marking this present time as “AD” (Anni di Dedizione); dedicated to creating with my loves, my daughter and son. My interest in light, space, and color has remained central to my work. Landscape is a motif that has survived. It encapsulates my desire to reflect Gods creation and capture realistic imagery in an expressive way. I’m exploring swift brushstrokes, bold mark making, and color spontaneity. I’ve regarded the palette knife as an instrument for more than just mixing colors. I’m drawn to the way it distributes paint onto the canvas and offers a unique way of reading the painting. Overall, my work has increased in expression due to the rapid pace I must move to make progress. My objective is to create. May my works on and off the canvas honor Christ, reflect His light, and offer a prophetic message.
