About The Artwork

The artist, Robin Ballard, is inspired by nature as she walks through forests, along waterways and into marshlands. Last fall, on a chilly day, she was in the Allschwiler Forest, which is close to her home in Basel. The trees hadn't yet lost there leaves, but snow was in the air. For the artist the painting is about seasonal transition. The inevitability of one season beginning, when another will soon come to an end. First Snow contains metallic and iridescent colors. This painting is part of the artist's “Habitat” series, which is a celebration of trees, plants, botanical forms and animals. The painting is stretched on a frame and is easy to hang.
