ABOUT THE ARTWORK
A painting of a young bear executed in acrylic and ink. The idea behind this painting is very simple, a young bear caught mid-chomp. The painting is on Uwa Senka, a 100% Kozo traditional Japanese paper. Due to the nature of the paper, there are some slight ripples on the surface. I enjoy the balance between edgy subjects painted on delicate surfaces.

I am an artist based in Gloucestershire, UK but originally from Perthshire, Scotland. I have been fortunate to exhibit in some prestigious institutions including Royal Academy, London, RWA, Bristol and RSA, Edinburgh. I trained in Fine Art Drawing and MFA Painting and have literally been drawing my whole life. My proudest achievement is having my ink drawing 'Ghoul School' in the permanent collection of Prints and Drawings at The British Museum. I was also delighted to receive 'Finest Drawing' award at the National Open Art Competition in 2013.
