ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This is a fishmarket in Somalia. It is part of my "flotsam" series. I use acrylic scraps collaged onto my painting. They remind me of flotsam washed up from the oceans. Its so easy to forget that each person in this market is a complete being with hopes, dreams, family, history. I hope its viewers see the universality of our humaness too.
