About The Artwork
The work was inspired by compassion for the suffering of the sick during the pandemic and solidarity with the efforts of doctors to save the sick. The work presents a bouquet of flowers that forms a color contrast to the cold interior of the hospital, symbolized by a sterilization device and gray colors. I hope that the viewer, in turn, feels gratitude for the healing or because he was not sick and gratitude to those who helped him. Also, to feel compassion for those who lost their lives in this pandemic. I painted this work in 2021, in the midst of a pandemic. The work was selected to be presented in the watercolor exhibition organized by the Japanese Watercolor Institute. Using watercolor allowed me a spontaneous and free approach, according to my mood.
