ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This piece was inspired by the glorious colors in a piece by David Hockney. It contains various flowers and leaves growing up and across the small wooden block upon which it was painted. The brushstrokes are thick and visible, with hints of deep magenta showing through the white background. Easter Lillies, reeds, an iris, some eucalyptus leaves and other plants are the subject of this piece, executed in cool greens and purple tones offset by vibrant pops of orange and red.
