Art Description

Painting: Acrylic on Paper.

This original 23"x 30" retro style acrylic on paper is part of a series of work I created inspired by graphics and signage created in 1940's and 1950's advertising. I initially became interested in this style as it recalled the old diners that were still part of small town America when I was a small child. I enjoy the bold, eye catching graphic juxtaposition of the geometric orbital shapes, color and dots inspired by original retro style artwork developed for simple printing processes. I use other techniques like basic block printing to add texture to the surfaces of this collection.
