Biography Aisylu(Ayza) is an artist born and raised in a small town in Russia, where she studied the basics of painting and graphics at Bashkir State Pedagogical University (2009-2014). During her time in higher education, she launched her own handmade jewelry online shop, which she ran until 2013. After completing her studies, she worked as an artist-designer for an advertising company while also creating commissioned paintings. In search of a major life change, Aisylu moved to Greece in 2018 to work as a yacht stewardess. It was during this time at sea that she realized how profoundly the ocean influenced her, inspiring her to return to art and focus on creating oil seascapes. Starting her life from scratch, she learned the Greek language and immersed herself in the local culture. Currently based in the port city of Piraeus, Greece, Aisylu works as an artist in the luminism–neo-impressionist style. Her art serves as a reminder of the fluidity of life and the importance of not forgetting to enjoy it. Artist Statement My art is a research of a hedonistic approach to life as a path to freedom. Rethinking this concept of Ancient Greek philosophy, I chose hedonism and a healthy focus on myself—something so lacking in modern society. Life has become so difficult that we don’t have time to just live: we drown in our experiences and solve everyday situations day after day. Sometimes you want to escape from all this chaos, and where better to run than to the sea? The reflection of the sun, the waves, the depth, and the incredible power of the sea make us feel out of time. I am a flâneur artist, and as an emigrant who loves to travel, I am inspired by Greece. This inspiration encourages me to share the beauty of the moment. My creativity is a tool for conveying feelings in a visual form. My paintings create a mood that gives the viewer the energy to live and enjoy the moment. The influence of such great impressionists as Claude Monet, Edgar Degas, Arkhip Kuindzhi, and Ivan Shultz determined my choice of style—the use of light effects in the landscape, thanks to atmospheric perspective and the transmission of my emotions from every unique moment. This is my conscious approach to hedonism - the desire to remind myself of the importance of enjoying the simple joys of life. This is my freedom as a person and an artist.
