Like a visionary he invests reality with a dreamlike mantle using vivid combinations of pigment to transform everyday objects. The subjects of his paintings are rendered fascinating by a sense of the hallucinatory. It is a difficult style to categorise by school or movement because the subject matter is so eclectic, impudent and uninhibited and the creative art is so genuine, passionate and incisive. In Collura`s paintings one is always aware of a vital tension. There is a hint of sadness underscored by the energy of the vivid colours he uses to invent and distort the evolving canvas - bestowing upon it an invigorating vibrancy.
