PAPER : Lana (est. 1590), Strasbourg, France. FRAMING : artisan framer, France ; edge, wood, black, ready to hang. FRAME’S CHARACTERISTICS : French wood, hand painted by the artisan framer, several coatings of casein free French paint, acid free cardboards, Saint-Gobain glass (est. 1665). HMF 276 CORE PRINCIPLES : TORTURE RACK PAINTING / PEINTURE DE CHEVALET DE TORTURE (from the French word "chevalet": both "easel" and "torture rack") Formerly called Schisms and, then, Global Warning, HMF 276 is the inverted principle of both Mythisthms and Neocalligraphy. Born from both the acme of a Horror when 276 women were kidnapped (and…) in 2014 (the ignition of this series) and the un-calligraphy "Human Made Failure" (HMF, 2012, see here : https://www.saatchiart.com/art/Painting-Human-Made-Failure-Duo-4b/776003/3471485/view), HMF 276 is dedicated to all that Suffers ; humans, animals, rivers, thoughts, …, nevermind the infinite-like ideologies the executioners extoll, have extolled and will extoll in times & spaces. Still and forever yelling too, my omni-sensitivity’s womb-wound found, finally, a way to present the Human Made Failure we build and/or suffer from. So, portrait-like artworks, personified facts and concepts (victims, executioners,victims → executioners, victims ↔ executioners, human or not), painted to fix and analyze Pain and Suffering’s origins. Not with distance, but via a step-behind necessary for us not to be no more subdued, and/or submissive, to the shock that alienation spreads (Parallel in "Altère eGo" photo series). So, a painting taking part in, a torture racked painting ; for tortured too, living it too. Empathy. Inter-intra-sharing of painted daily facts in order us all to, hopefully, one day, see domination evaporating itself, in oubliettes (dungeons), but never into oblivion (see Mute-isthm "Oblivion, itself", here : https://www.saatchiart.com/art/Painting-L-Oubli-Lui-M-me-Oblivion-Itself/776003/3430783/view). For us to extract from the "Altère eGo" (the contrary of Alter Ego) & begin to collegially live as alter egos. NOTE 1 Please, do not consider HMF 276, nor anything from me, as an act of ’’social art’’, for I have no ideology, except if the fact to be selfless is itself an ideology. I am not just a philanthropist but an omnithropist, this is why and how I love each element of the Whole ; until this element wants to possess, dominate, to have some-’’thing’’ instead of to be in harmony with one-an-unother. It’s been a while now that ’’social’’ is an -ism in the part of the world I was born, not enough an isthmus anymore. I just pass by to contribute to save and build what lightful lucid having-survived-from-death beings taught me with their smiles overcoming their own lived-deaths : far beyond all the human made seclusions between humans, animals, Earth and Cosmos, isthmus as just a beginning. A smile, yes, but a lucid smile. NOTE 2 Most of HMF 276’s artworks have been scanned in order to enhance a key element : the signification of the ondulations of the paper. So, the most pronounced ondulations you will find in this series are several ondulations at once, several brilliancies the play paper-paint-light offers at once. So, please consider these particularly pronounced artworks have an originally softer brilliancy, and that both versions are complementary originals (one fixed, one dialoguing with the light of its environment).
