Memories of facts, people and events have a strong influence on my work. My work attempts to catch a moment in time and by imprinting it into a painting tries to keep it alive for ever. Paintings are of course not alive and viewers rarely share my deepest memories. These relieve through the viewers’s eyes who shape them according to their past and present and their own dreams, thus creating a new cycle of life and love.

Ireneo Frizzarin is a painter and multidisciplinary artist whose work has been featured in solo exhibitions in London, New York, Spain and his native Italy, and can be found in private collections worldwide. Ireneo has lived and worked in London since 2002. After graduating from the University of the Arts, London, in 2008, he began undertaking private commissions. His recent works include a collaboration with Donna Karan NY and Gordon Ramsey. His works currently grace the walls of one of Mr Ramsey’s latest culinary ventures. Memories of facts, people and events have a strong influence on his paintings, which attempt to capture moments in his life. He is inspired by images of people, such as photos of close family members in their youth whom he met only later in their life. The overlapping of these characters in their adult life with the memory of them in their younger years creates a dream-like narrative expressed through bold colours and application of paint, in an attempt to express a mood or state of mind. Memories are not set in stone. They are relived through the viewer’s eyes, who shapes them according to their past and present and their own dreams. The meaning and value of a painting can change and gradually develop overtime in the viewer's perception. Thus, the ice creams that feature prominently in one of his work “Fragmentation of memory” and are the indirect expression of a strong link with his mother and childhood, might take on a completely different meaning in the eyes of an onlooker. Religious images, in particular the Holy Shroud, have a special place in Ireneo's earlier works, reflecting his Catholic upbringing and the mystic power this still exerts on him. Ultimately, anything that challenges his views, such as other cultures, religions and traditions that open his heart and soul to new values, are Ireneo's source of inspiration. Looking critically at the intrinsic value of life, actions, words and objects is an essential feature of his extensive body of work.
